Katharine Hamnett
Saint Martin's School of Art graduate Katherine Hamnett embodies the ethical designer. Since her namesake brand's inception in 1979, Hamnett continually participates in political and environmental activism, scrutinizingly critical of the gears which move fast fashion. Espousing an ethical approach to garment construction, Hamnett's oft-political pieces are built from sustainable fabric, ranging form recycled polyester, organic cotton, and silk, balanced by classic silhouettes for casual wear.
