Aballe

ABALLE takes its name from "Abba," the word for father, a fitting root for a house built on inheritance of a different kind. Founded by Julius Margulies, a fine artist whose practice moved through tattoo work, light boxes and bronze sculpture before settling on gold, the label transforms human vertebral anatomy into wearable sculpture, a design language Margulies arrived at almost inevitably as the son of a spine surgeon who spent a lifetime looking at vertebral imagery before recognizing it as his own. Based in New York and handmade in the USA by master jewelers, each piece is engineered with a hundred year horizon in mind, sitting somewhere between fine art, anatomical study and precision object. The wearer is temporary. The piece is built to outlast them.
