Raf Simons

Raf Simons has long been ahead of his time as a visionary, graduating in Industrial Design and Furniture Design in 1991 and beginning his namesake label in 1995. First gaining international acclaim for his 2001 collection ‘Woe Onto Those Who Spit On The Fear Generation...The Wind Will Blow It Back’  for its sinister aesthetic of an urban guerrilla, an aesthetic change was noted after the 2005 AW season with the youth code being replaced with an emphasis on structure, form, and silhouette. Simons' recent collaborations with acclaimed artist like Sterling Ruby and most recently his use of Robert Mapplethorpe's photography accentuate his collections, from graphic prints to garment treatments and presentations.
