ICHIROW PARIS is the independent menswear label of Japanese designer Ichiro Suzuki, whose practice transforms the language of traditional tailoring into something less stable and more surreal. Trained at Henry Poole on Savile Row before spending years with Maison Margiela in Paris, Suzuki brings exacting construction to a study of opposites: tradition and progress, simplicity and complexity, precision and chaos. His ongoing Sartorial Studies project begins with familiar menswear archetypes, then distorts them through manipulated checks, unexpected proportions, trompe-l'oeil effects, and painstaking construction, pushing the conventions of the tailored jacket, trouser, and coat without abandoning their wearability.
